Every system I've shipped has had a real cost of failure - someone's money, someone's mission, someone's decision. That shapes how I build.
I'm a software engineer with 6+ years spent in domains that don't forgive sloppiness - retail banking, defence-grade autonomous systems, and AI platforms that enterprises make decisions on.
I've led backend architecture at an AI startup, written flight-adjacent software for UAVs, and built full-stack investment products for a global bank. Different stacks, same discipline: understand the failure modes first, then earn the complexity you add.
What I actually optimise for is the boring stuff - clarity, small blast radius, and systems the next engineer can reason about without me in the room.
How I work
Build things that last
Not just the ones that demo well. The measure of a system is how it behaves in year three, on a bad day, with someone else on call.
Simplicity is a decision
Complexity accumulates by default. Removing it is the actual engineering work - in code, in architecture, and in how you explain both.
Be accountable to your future self
Write the code, the doc, and the commit message you'd want to find at 2am six months from now.
Discipline beats motivation
Energy and consistency compound. Waiting to feel inspired is a strategy that loses to showing up.
